The Studio layout which is displayed the first time you start Lycia Studio is designed to manage projects and source files of all types. It is called the 4GL Perspective. It can be used for editing 4GL source files, script files, form files, etc. This perspective includes a number of views which allow the developer to navigate among source files, to build programs and projects and to view possible problems. This perspective has a number of default editors which are opened depending on the type of the opened file. It is flexible and is automatically modified to fit the file type you currently edit. Some menu options and views are added or removed depending on the currently selected editor.
The 4GL Perspective includes the main toolbar which combines the most frequently used options from the main menu and a number of the context menus of the views and resources. This makes the work of the developer easier and the process of the development quicker. The toolbar includes such options as saving, building, running, searching and creating new resources. It can be customized to meet any specific needs, options can be added, removed,a and relocated in the twinkling of an eye.

Managing Resources
Lycia Studio offers the developer two types of the project tree, one of which represents the physical storage of all project resources and the other categorizes resources into 4gl file types and 4gl project dependencies. These views can be used to manage your resources in all possible ways (open, rename, move, delete, etc.)

The resources can be opened for edition in an internal or an external editor. There are two main internal editors: 4GL Source Code editor used to edit .4gl source files and text form files and the Graphical Form editor used to edit graphical form files. External editors are widely used to edit media files of all types - you can open them directly via the Studio. It saves time and allows you to work on the whole project using only the Studio window.
When auto-deploying the build application to the application server, the entire physical directory structure will be mirrored.
