Lycia Studio is highly adjustable. You can configure the database driver, the GUI settings, editor settings and any other parts of the Studio to create a comfortable working environment.
GUI Settings
The GUI settings comprise all the environment settings used for launching a program in graphical mode. You can change the default application server to which the program is deployed at any time using the properties menu of the IDE. You can even specify a preferred GUI server for a project which differs from the default one.
The behavior of the GUI clients is adjusted using the special environment file which can be accessed from the Studio. Here you can add and modify any environment variables which will be used by the application server when running a program in the GUI mode.

Studio Appearance
You can customize text editor settings to suit your own preferences. The format of each 4GL element such as a keyword, a comment, etc. can be adjusted. The changes in the editor settings are visual and can be previewed before they are applied.
Some other options allow to customize the editor even more. You can also modify the appearance of any objects (such as breakpoints or bookmarks) which appear in the editor area.
The Studio appearance can be also customized to a great extent. This includes adding and removing views, moving them around the Studio, adding and removing menu options or toolbar buttons.

Setting the Database
When you are ready to compile your programs, you can choose which target database is to be used for the validation from the list of databases. The list of databases can be accessed from the properties menu.
