LyciaDesktop and LyciaText – The Graphical Clients

Rendering 4GL applications in a graphical Windows Windows environment LyciaDesktop transforms 4GL applications to look and operate exactly like native graphical applications. With features such as menus, toolbars, context menu, tooltips, embedded ActiveX controls / Java Beans, scripting and SSL communications, this advanced graphical client can help make the most of your existing 4GL applications.

With the Querix advanced client system, the user interface can be made very intuitive due to its virtually unlimited customization options. Using ActiveX controls to replace or create new objects, LyciaDesktop can insert new functionality into 4GL applications. Whenever there is a need for a particular component which is not included in the Querix development suite, LyciaDesktop will findre the answer.

ActiveX controls can be created with any MS-Windows Development system, such as Microsoft Visual C++ or Visual Basic and Java Beans can be created in any standard Java Development environment.

SDI/MDI & the application launcher menu bar

Lycia Desktop offers a SDI and MDI graphical mode. A menu bar (drop down menu) can be defined in various ways to launch server and client side programs
