LyciaStudio is an Eclipse-based integrated development workbench with various tools to make your daily 4GL development work more productive. It provides consistency across integration, development and deployment, so resources can be shared and reutilized, all the while remaining open, intuitive and economical. The unified Eclipse platform is the foundation of all Lycia tools and solutions. Eclipse - the industry standard in the world of multi programming language IDEs - and Querix provide following features:
The entire Studio window is highly configurable. The editor environment and other sections of the Studio window can be re-arranged to suit your personal preferences. Lycia Studio uses the container concept of "workspaces" to maintain the projects and their resources, both the source code files and the executables. Different development tasks such as source code editing, debugging or revision control are managed using different views/perspectives. It allows each task to be performed in its specific and customized workbench environment.
The figure on the right shows what the 4GL perspective used for editing 4GL files looks like:
The perspectives are highly adjustable: the toolbar buttons, menu options, views and editor sets can be modified to meet the needs of any developer. The Studio includes a powerful search engine which allows you to search for files or pieces of code all over the workspace.
